The Edmonds Art Fair

This was my first year to have a booth at the Edmonds Art Fair. This fair has a great balance of quality work and the public flocks to it. I planned my booth carefully, made new tags, painted a new sign with my signature and even had new business cards printed up. It was a great experience and I met many wonderful people. I knew going into it that original paintings are not the biggest seller at an art fair; it was all part of my campaign to make my work more visible. And I discovered people are beginning to know my work. Many commented that they have seen my paintings in other shows or galleries. People come to art fairs for different reasons. Some walk right by without even looking, others glance in and continue on. But there were those that would come in to my mini-gallery stand and look carefully at each painting. Often they would visibly relax and many would simply smile. They got my work and I knew I had succeeded. I would love to do the show again next year and perhaps I will try some prints with a lower price point.
